Rewind to junior year in Rosewood, Pennsylvania, to a winter break no one has ever heard about...
Fat snowflakes fall onto manicured lawns, quilted stockings hang over marble fireplaces, and everyone is at peace, especially Hanna, Emily, Aria, and Spencer. Now that Alison’s murderer is in jail and A is dead, they can finally relax. Little do they know there’s a new A in town...

Rule number one of being an effective stalker: Get to know your prey. So I watch these liars day and night, keeping an eye on the trouble they get into, the messes they make, and the secrets they keep. Hanna’s desperate for a very personal session with her gym trainer. Emily is number one on Santa’s naughty list. Aria’s old flame from Iceland is about to land her in hot water. And Spencer’s resorting to some backhanded tactics to get what she wants.
What happens on holiday break stays on holiday break—right? But guess what. I saw. And now I’m telling.

Pretty Little Secrets tells the stories of the four girls during their Christmas break. This book is supposed to take place between Unbelievable and Wicked. Judging by the summary, I thought that this book was going to be told from A.'s point of view. Meaning we would actually get inside Alison's head. However, that was not the case. Anybody can read this book, as long as they have finished the first four books in the series.

This book was a nice addition to the series. I adore the Pretty Little Liars series. It is one of my biggest guilty pleasures, so I was excited to read this. I didn't expect this book to be so huge! It was over 400 pages! But then I understood why; each girl has a different story that is roughly around 120 pages a piece. I actually liked the format that Sara Shepard set this book as. I liked reading the individual stories, they were fun quick reads.

Here is my breakdown rating of the four stories:

Hanna - If anybody has read my previous reviews on any of the PLL's books, you know that Hanna is my favorite character. So of course, I loved her story. I finished it in one setting. I wouldn't say that it was a major storyline, but it was just nice to read a short story about my favorite character. One of the biggest reasons why I liked this was because we get too see more of Hanna and Lucas as a couple. Yes, Lucas wasn't in the story that much but I still liked seeing it. Hanna is just a likable character for me. Hanna talks about how she cried at Mona's funeral and how people looked at her like she was crazy, but I totally understood why she did. If I had a best friend do that to me; I would feel the same way. 4.5/5

Emily - Her story was probably my least favorite out of all the stories. Emily is my least favorite character out of the girls, so I didn't expect to like her story. I found myself bored a couple times, and thought that the story was kind of weird. I mean she becomes a mall Santa! I didn't like her story that much. 2/5

Aria - WOW. This was huge short story. Now this was a pretty little secret. Aria actually got married!? I couldn't believe that she did this. I am hoping that it somehow pops up during these upcoming PLL books. That would be awesome. Aria's was probably the most entertaining and the least boring. It was my favorite story out of the book. 5/5

Spencer - Her story was funny, I really enjoyed it as well. It starts with Spencer and her family going to her Nana's beach house. While she is down there she meets a boy named Colin and her and Melissa fight to be with him. I couldn't believe the ending that this story had! I actually liked Colin at the beginning! Ew! Can't believe that I did! It was funny how Melissa and Spencer got Colin back in the end. 4/5

So overall, I really enjoyed this book. I knew that it wasn't going to be anything mind blowing but just took it for what it is. I wouldn't say that everybody needs to read this. I say this book is for the dedicated hardcore fans. Not everyone will enjoy this if you are already annoyed at the story. I wish that Sara Shepard would write a book just about Alison and Courtney. Now that would be something huge to read. Maybe she will? (:
